Parish Petition October 2021

In June 2021 we contacted residents regarding the opportunity to create the parish of Upper Saxondale and thus form an Upper Saxondale Parish Council. Thank you to those residents who gave their support. To move this forward, we need to present a petition to Rushcliffe Borough Council recommending the creation of a new Upper Saxondale parish.

We have prepared a leaflet, which is being delivered to all residents’ homes, that explains more about the petition. You can also download a copy.

We need at least 187 signatures supporting the petition from residents who are listed on the electoral register.

Being a separate parish will ensure that Upper Saxondale has an independent voice in the wider community and that parish precept money (which we all currently pay as part of our council tax), will be used for the benefit of our community. It will also ensure robust governance and a sustainable future for the maintenance of the environment and facilities at Upper Saxondale.

We will be holding two information sessions at the Village Hall on Friday 8th October. Please come along between 10.30am and 1pm or between 5pm and 8pm to find out more and to sign the petition.
