Trees at Upper Saxondale
Since taking ownership of the DWH land in December 2024, USPC has been working on an action plan of maintenance for this land.
Initially, there are two elements:
1. Grass cutting which will be carried out in all areas as previously and with the same frequency
2. Remedial work on areas that have become overgrown
Tree Survey 2025
In early 2025, USPC commissioned a Tree Survey to review all of the trees within Upper Saxondale. The survey document is comprehensive and runs to 76-pages.
There were no urgent actions arising from the survey, however certain trees do need ad hoc remedial work. Trees to be included in Phase One of the remedial works have now been identified and USPC is currently obtaining quotes for this work. This document needs to be read in conjunction with the Tree Survey.
USPC has developed a Tree Policy which is specifically directed at trees on USPC land that are adjacent to a resident’s property, although some of what is said (eg about TPOs etc) is relevant to all trees.
Tree survey and related documents:
1. Tree Survey (76-pages, 3.4 Mb)
2. Phase One (1-page, 61 Kb)
3. Tree Policy (2-pages, 51 Kb)
The Cherry Trees on Millennium Way require some remedial work in terms of height reduction and shaping. A contractor has now been identified to carry out this work. USPC has been advised that this work needs to take place after the trees have flowered but whilst they are still in leaf, possibly commencing June/July.
